The Venue
Izzy and Ali chose the iconic Royal Botanical Gardens in Kew for their wedding, a place brimming with beauty and meaning. Having gotten engaged in botanical gardens the previous year and sharing a deep connection to London, Kew Gardens was the perfect choice.
Their day unfolded across several of Kew’s breathtaking locations:
- The Nash Conservatory: A serene spot for their heartfelt ceremony.
- The Princess of Wales Conservatory: A lush setting for a lively drinks reception.
- The Temperate House: A stunning, plant-filled haven for their evening celebratio
With the talented Assumpta of By Ave Creations at the helm, the wedding was meticulously
designed and planned, ensuring every detail reflected Izzy and Ali’s personalities and love story.
The Ceremony
The couple’s ceremony took place in the historic Nash Conservatory, surrounded by 120 of their closest friends and family. Nat Raybould Celebrant led the proceedings, blending Chinese and Islamic traditions to honour Izzy and Ali’s cultural heritage.
One of the most touching moments was the symbolic tying of the red thread of fate on each other’s ring fingers—a nod to the Chinese legend that two people destined to be together are connected by an invisible thread. Ali’s brother also conducted a short Islamic ceremony, uniting the couple in the name of Allah, welcoming both families to become one.
The Reception
Following the ceremony, guests were treated to cocktails in the Princess of Wales Conservatory, accompanied by the beautiful melodies of the Elmore Quartet.
The celebration then moved to the Temperate House, a breathtaking space filled with lush jungle plants and long, candlelit tables. In the centre stood a show-stopping cake designed by Sugar Plum Bakes, perfectly complementing the botanical theme.
As the evening unfolded, the gardens became a vibrant stage for an unforgettable party. After emotional vows and speeches, the dance floor came alive, with guests celebrating late into the night.
